After Louis Farrakhan's latest rant can there be any doubt about Obama's political and religious persuasion?

Direct Quote:

';This young man is the hope of the entire world that America will change and be made better,'; he said. ';This young man is capturing audiences of black and brown and red and yellow. If you look at Barack Obama's audiences and look at the effect of his words, those people are being transformed.';

Farrakhan compared Obama to the religion's founder, Fard Muhammad, who also had a white mother and black father.

';A black man with a white mother became a savior to us,'; he told the crowd of mostly followers. ';A black man with a white mother could turn out to be one who can lift America from her fall.';After Louis Farrakhan's latest rant can there be any doubt about Obama's political and religious persuasion?
A ';direct quote'; without a source. Very convenient. The last time I checked, even Louis Farrakhan had freedom of speech and what he says/ does has nothing to do with Barack Obama.

VOTE AGAINST the politics of FEAR and HATRED!

VOTE FOR the politics of HOPE and UNITY!!

VOTE DEMOCRAT in '08!!

VOTE OBAMA!!After Louis Farrakhan's latest rant can there be any doubt about Obama's political and religious persuasion?
What does what Farrakhan says have to do with what Obama thinks.
The quote shows that one more person sees Obama as their savior! This is very concerning. The man is running for president, yet his followers see him as a deity.

We all know what happens when human beings are put on pedestals don't we?
Good quote. With friends like that you don't need enemies
I have come across some of the articles with these stories. I can't say whether Obama may not know what he has gotten himself into, or he doesn't care what image he is projecting.

Some of the beliefs of this church are questionable.

But voters have to vote by what they know about the candidates, and not because of race, gender, or religion.

I don't support any of the current candidates, I'm doing a write-in.
Yes, there's plenty of doubt, because there's no proof that he is muslim.

Obama as a Muslim:

This is like a dog chasing its tail. This has been gone over time and time and time again.

Obama is not a Muslim.

http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/mus鈥?/a>

Obama makes the thing about the National Anthem quite clear...

BEGIN QUOTE

';This was not during the pledge of allegiance,'; Obama said of the picture taken at Senator Tom Harkin's,

D-Iowa, annual steak fry and first published by Time. ';A woman was singing the

Star Spangled Banner when that picture was taken.

';'I was taught by my grandfather that you put your hand over your heart during the pledge, but during the Star Spangled Banner, you sing!' Obama said.';

END QUOTE

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/鈥?/a>

Regarding Obama ';swearing in'; on the Koran--wrong.

http://politifact.com/truth-o-meter/arti鈥?/a>

It was Minnesota Congressman Keith Ellison, not Obama.

And in fact, congressmen don't swear on any religious text. They just raise their right hand. Some carry religious texts with them.
I am sure that if Obama gets the nomination the KKK, Aryan nation, and other white supremicists will ';endorse'; McCain. Would that make him a racist by association, too?
I love it how you didn't inject any opinions in there, and still Obama supporters come to the conclusion that there is something wrong with it and proceed to insult you.

All you did was quote it, and automatically they go nuts. They see it, but they deny it. its almost as if they are fighting themselves. The weirdest thing ever.

To answer your question, sure there is doubt, otherwise people wouldn't be asking the question. That is what the real issue is. Why is it that half of america doesn't believe this person, and what does that say about him ';bringing us together';. Don't know, guess time will be the judge.

What you also, need to ask yourself, is why this person made this quote all of sudden, when everyone is questioning his abilities on Foreign relations. Its almost as if someone asked him to come out in support of Obama, so everyone can say, see he is already on their good side, this is proof that he will do a good job. Sends shivers down my spine.
Now that's scary.
and you find this to be threatening because you don't consider yourself part of the world or just don't like people who aren't white?
farrakhan would support an ebony tree if it could run. with him, anything black is good, white is bad. period.
Obama has no control over anyone saying anything about him.

Plus, I fail to see the harm in this quote.

Obama does unite many colors, ages, economic status and so on.

So, using this argument, we should elect a Jewish man who now believes in Jesus, since Jesus's parents were Jews as was Jesus.
He is a democrat and belongs to a Christian church. This is Farrakhan talking to his relatively small flock of supporters. White people stopped being of scared of Farrakhan in the 90s, get over it.
That is what Farrakhan said, not Obama.

I fail to see how this ';proves'; what Obama believes. Farrakhan is free to say, at least as an individual, what he wants about the various Presidential candidates.

Why do BJP politicians only talk about Hindus and rant Sri Ram? Is it radical group or political party?

I have been watching their rallies and none of them have ever talked about Muslims. They rant Sri Ram's name. How do you think non-hindu's feel about this? After all BJP is suppose to be political party of India, who thinks about ALL the religion, NOT JUST HINDUISM.

If a Muslim Political party keeps on saying Allah, what would hindu's feel?

Lets just assume that BJP does make a government, will they think about Muslims and Christians in India?

Thank you kindly for your POVs.Why do BJP politicians only talk about Hindus and rant Sri Ram? Is it radical group or political party?
They are politicians who are trying to fool people by making them more sentimental and emotional,

caz there is no one such educated in bjp who can tell them abt growth plans and allWhy do BJP politicians only talk about Hindus and rant Sri Ram? Is it radical group or political party?
Better know Hinduism and Hindu first and then talk all that rubbish Talking Hindus is radical and taking of Muslims and others is secularism is this your definition of secularism? ....majority of population is Hindu so what is wrong in working for them ? One cant talk about hindus in Pakistan or Bangladesh ...So what is your

problem ?

Hindu is geographical term every resident of India is Hindu ...HINDU = INDIAN ....
What is BJP's target?

- to get maximum no of Hindu votes .

How can a party attract Hindus ?

- make something your political agenda which is very closely related to Hindu sentiment.

Where can you find the most no of Hindu votes?

- in the so called 'cow-belt', %26amp; UP in this region has always played a vital role in Indian politics.

What is position of Ram among those ppl?

- ENORMOUS ! Ram is an inseparable part of their life.

I think you got your answer !
They don't stand for India and Indians.

Their love is first for the Hindus, then the north Indian Hindus and then the north Indian upper caste Hindus.

This a fact as clear as day light.
Good that you are a Hindu, but an ignorant Hindu. If you dont want to understand something not even god can make you understand it. So God bless you. But let me tell you that you are on the wrong side, sooner you realise it the better.
you are mistaken dear. BJP thinks for everyone. it has supporters from all sections of the society. there are lots of muslims in BJP.
unfortunately in india the system of election process gone wrong for votes.congress appease minorities for votes bjp appease majority.both are bad hence no body should feel bad
you are another victim of congress party's policy of ';buying'; media and using it as per their wish. actually this wonderful idea was gandhi's brainchild which congress inherited just like it inherited the policy of divide and rule from britishers.

and as far as indian constitution and secularism and muslim rights are concerned these all are weapons invented by congress to rule india upto eternity.

nobody ever talks of hindu rights in bangaldesh, pakistan and indonesia ( infact in kashmir and north-east as well ). do you know that pakistani flag has already been hoisted in assam and hindus have left that place. don't you think that you have some responsibility ( though i know that hindus are selfish ) towards fellow hindus. do you know that in malaysia temples are destroyed and hindus are forcefully converted. in indonesia hindus are leaving java and settling in bali ( thanks to balinese hindus who believe in tit for tat ). they ask indian government to interfere but this anti hindu congress govt. becomes silent spectator to prove its loyality to its muslim vote bank. hindus are converted by missionaries by allurement. do you know that western countries find india as a soft target to christianise because of its overstretched policies ( thanks to secularism ). they never set up their missionaries in china or muslim countries. i can type for hours but i have already given a detailed answer to your other question.

now it is up to you to preserve your culture and religion or make the same mistakes that hindus are doing for centuries. either learn from the history or remember history repeates itself.

and if you couldn't make out anything from my answer then i can only say that,

it is very normal for hindus like you to be ignorant. most hindus are ignorant. this ignorance of hindus is the sole reason for india's current position.

i can only pray to god to show fellow hindu brothers right path.

but friend please do one thing, only one thing.

JUST READ HISTORY OF CONGRESS PARTY FROM THE VERY BEGINNING. it will require at most your few hours. but spending that much time for your nation's future is worthwhile.
Muslims are already ranting Allah Ho Akbar on every corner. BJP is not against muslims but it is against appeasement politics. BJP wants justice for all and appeasement of none.

Congress has made muslims a votebank appeasing the fundamentalism and extremist elements amongst muslims. They give money for Madrassas but dont create universal public education for all regardless of religion.

They give subsidies for Haj from public funds when India could use those for development which would benefit the muslims too.

Secularism demands that the Country have a uniform civil code for all citizens but the Congress refuses to apply it. All western countries have uniform civil code.

The rights of muslim women as individuals in India have been compromised because of the abject surrender of the Congress to some muslim fundamentalists at the expense of the average muslims.

No country in the world with muslim populations gives Haj Subsidy including muslim countries but congress diverts much needed funds that can go toward a scientific education for muslims toward Haj subsidies.

Even Islam says that only a muslim who can afford to do the Haj should do it. Why subsidies then?

Muslims are their own worst enemies when they vote for congress.

Congress is like the parent who is spoiling his muslim child rotten but is actually doing them harm because the child will not learn to survive on their own in the modern world.

Give someone a fish and they eat for a day, teach them to fish and they will eat for life.

BJP may appear rude to muslims but this is the truth!
The CD controversy in U.P. election has proved once again, if any proof is needed, how much BJP hates Muslims. BJP's anti-Muslim record has touched new heights. How can any politically responsible party taking part in democratic election and taking oath for secularism, can produce such propaganda stuff. The CD is full of hate for Muslims and uses very derogatory language. The only parallel one can find is Nazi's hate of Jews, no other example could be found.

It celebrates any anti-Muslim measure or judgement. Recently when the single judge of Allahabad High Court declared Muslims in U.P. as not being a minority, the BJP spokesperson immediately welcomed the judgement as refutation of Congress party's ';minorityism';and vindication of BJP's stand. No other party welcomed the judgement and all other party's except the BJP criticised the judgement as unfair. The Judge had simply pronounced the judgement, which was not even relevant to the petition before him and he had not even given reasons for the judgement he delivered. The judgement was even against what the Supreme Court had held in TMA Pai Foundation judgement.

Right from post-independence days Muslims have been taken as constituting minority, though most major one. No one had ever expressed any doubt about it. The Supreme Court had held that any religious community less than 50% in number shall be deemed to be a minority and any all India -minority will also be deemed to be minority in any state. Also, as claimed by the honourable judge of Allahabad High Court, there are no such references in the Constitutional Assembly debates to prove that Muslims are not a minority in U.P. or any other state of Union of India.

Before all these matters were gone into, BJP immediately welcomed the judgement and treated it as vindication of its stand on minorityism. One can as well tell BJP that the Congress whether indulges in minorityism or not BJP certainly indulges in anti-Muslimism. It whole-heartedly welcomes any anti-Muslim measure most enthusiastically.

In fact during the entire campaign for Ramjanmabhoomi BJP and many of its individual members like Sadhvi Rithambara and others indulged in most vicious anti-Muslim campaign. Cheap rhetoric of all Muslims being ';Babar ki Aulad'; (Babar's children) was indulged in without any restraint. Uma Bharti and Rithambara used most abusive language against Muslims throughout Ramjanmaboomi campaign until Babri Masjid was demolished by a frenzied mob and when Masjid was demolished BJP leaders hugged each other in joy and celebrated the day as day of Diwali. Crackers were burst, especially in U.P. throughout that night.

Even today the Sangh Parivar celebrates it as ';Shaurya Divas'; (day of bravery) whereas whole country observes it as a tragic day in the history of secular India. And all this after the leaders of Jan Sangh, which was re-christened as Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) had taken a vow on Gandhiji's Samadhi of following principles of Gandhian socialism and secularism. Soon after taking this oath in 1980 it started its anti-Muslim campaign describing constitutional secularism as pseudo-secularism and accused the Congress for indulging in ';minorityism'; and fought subsequent elections with those slogans.

I sincerely advise BJP leaders to rename the party as BHP (Bhartiya Hindu Party) as it always excludes Muslims from people of India. Had it been sincerely Bhartiya Janata Party, it would have never adopted such anti-Muslim attitude towards Indian Muslims. Thus Hindu Mahasabha is more sincere in its ideology as it clearly designates itself as Hindu Party caring only for Hindu interests. And to this extent Hindu Mahasabha leaders disagree with BJP because the important word ';Hindu'; is missing though it claims to be looking after Hindu interests.

The BJP leaders are trying to disown the CD under question only after the Election Commission took a strong view of the contents of the CD and said it is likely to promote disharmony between religious communities and issued notice to the BJP why action should not be taken against it. We congratulate the courage and principled stand taken by the Election Commission on this issue. It was overdue. Many prominent citizens have petitioned the Election Commission to de-recognise BJP as a political party as it always indulges in campaigns which endangers national unity and integrity.

Anyway any party, which publicly proclaims ';Hindutva Agenda'; cannot be a secular party which it avows to be. Hindutva or Islamism in political arena for that matter cannot be in conformity with secularism. Secularism is basically a political doctrine. All political parties have to conform to secularism as a political philosophy and Election Commission requires all candidates filing nomination to take oath for secularism and political parties also have to declare their acceptance of it. How can then a party proclaiming ';Hindutva';doctrine be accepted as secular? It defies common sense.

The B
you alone are not living in gujarat. i have never experienced any of the thing that you mentioned in gujarat i think you live in some alienated part of gujarat.they have not alienated Muslims and Christians from progress in gujarat. i know many Christians that today have voted for BJP.

and which type of Gujarati you are when people answered your question that all things in gujarat are hype except killing of 1500 Muslims.i am so tired of this 2002 incident that people in gujarat are trying to move on but people of remaining part of india are not allowing us to do so.

and you have misread advani's interview that Kashmir is India but it would be Kashmir is in India.

and if you know that Narendra Modi have delivered 11.5 % GDP growth higher than any other state then you should have supported him but people like did not want the growth and so are criticizing them for no reason.you must be some Patel's which are not given importance in elections today or must be some Muslim talking in name of Hindu.
Secular parties only talk about Muslims they don't talk about Hindus, then should not Hindus feel bad?

Pakistan and Bangladesh were once India, today they are Islamic countries, Hindus have been ethnically cleansed, no Hindu can live there even if they want to, because they are Islamic but Muslims can live in India because we are secular. J%26amp;K is only Muslim majority state and Hindus from the valley were ethnically cleansed, but no one talks about them, are not they Human beings?

Crores of rupees are given to Muslims for Haj subsides, why should secular govt. give that much money for religious pilgrimages. Why not Hindus are given money for pilgrimages?

What about the victims of terrorist attacks, no one talks about them but every one talks about Muslim riot victims that took place years before. Are Hindu terrorist victims not human beings, then why UPA withdrew POTA, why are they not hanging terrorist Afzal who was convicted by SC. Is this secularism.

PM says Muslims have first right on countries resources, so today I am a second class citizen in my own country just because I am a Hindu.

Govt. tell SC and Ram is a mythological character. I can write on and on but I think you got my point.

BJP is not against any religion, Sri Ram was an ancient King of India loved my the people for thousands of years, even Akbar issued coins in his name, Muslim poets wrote praises in his name than how come saying Jai Sri Ram become communal? Muslims were much safer in during NDA rule then Hindus are in UPA rule.

Pseudosecular media has brainwashed people so much even those born in HIndu family are hating their own religion. So unfortunate.
Excellent question.

Indian constitution says that the country is a Soverign, Secular Democratic Republic. People who do not respect the constitution and the rule of law try to change it into a Fanatic, Intolerent Communal Mobocracy.

The reasons could be either to fool people for personal gains or huge funding by Chinese and Pakistani spy agencies to destabilize a growing India by inciting communal divide, which is quite easy in a multi-religious society like ours.

Greater the rewards, greater the zeal, greater the propaganda and greater the lies and hate speech.

A simple example is terrorism. Terror can happen any where in the world, that is why it is called terror. It happened in USA too.

But while the Congress under Dr. Man Moha Singh sent commandos to flush out the terrorists, some others sent the Foreign Minister to escort terrorist like VIPs to Kandhhar. Ok! if the motive was to save the passengers, why was Kandhahar not bombed by the Indian Air Force and Kabul not stormed by the Army immediately after the release?

Oh! the PM did not have confidence in the HM or did the iron man began to melt under pressure? Everything about Gujrat except the murder of 1500 Muslims is a hype.

Now that Bush is gone.... Y are the political jokes soooo lame & most of them are just racist Con rant?

Since I am not affiliated with any political party, I can answer this question with open mind. Some Democrats and Republicans are guilty of bashing one another, such as what you have just posted here. Now that Bush is gone.... Y are the political jokes soooo lame %26amp; most of them are just racist Con rant?
Perhaps they are lame because Obama is LAME! The people elected an IGNORANT ARROGANT INEXPERIENCED person to be president! Obama is a JOKE!

Why do ';Why'; questions on this political forum always signal that the asker has an agenda or a rant?

OH LORD, now you've done it. You've asked a why question without an agenda or rant. You've tried to use logic and reason in the political forum and broken the chain. Seven years of bad luck for seven generations unto us all. And because it was in politics we're all doomed. Doomed I tell you. DOOMED.

Guess this means the Clinton clan and the Bush clan are going to alternate the Presidency for the next 49 years. Why do ';Why'; questions on this political forum always signal that the asker has an agenda or a rant?
why do you ask? oh, crap! Why do ';Why'; questions on this political forum always signal that the asker has an agenda or a rant?
Because its a forum for politics? Maybe?
I don't think that's the case. Usually it is, but you just asked one, and I don't see any agenda or rant.
That is so false, there is no agenda or rant in your ';why'; question.
Thee is no reason not to spread the truth, doing my little part to try and keep Americans from making a huge mistake by electing Billary.
after looking at the ';why'; questions often enough, it seems to be what it is. im not sure that they know how to do it any other way. i think its the ';sheep'; mentality of asking questions. looking at my past ones, i think im doing a better job of changing that in myself.

hopefully others can too.

  • Why do people in the political and religious sections ask dumb trolling questions which just promote ranting?

cos they know people will bite...and they are probably 12 and really bored....Why do people in the political and religious sections ask dumb trolling questions which just promote ranting?
Politics and religion are very sensitive subjects in which people tend to have strong beliefs over and take very personally. They also play a huge role in many people's lives.

Therefore, any strong stance on an issue is bound to incite emotional reaction from the opposition and is perceived as an attack on their beliefs, even if it is just constructive criticism. Some misinformed and deceitful people will go out of their way to distort the issues in order to favor their slant just for kicks. People inevitably take sides and try to shout down their ';competition.'; Political discourse has historically been and continues to be akin to a contact sport.

Then too, some people just want the attention since they lack any self-esteem and have little going for them in their otherwise pathetic and mundane lives. Why do people in the political and religious sections ask dumb trolling questions which just promote ranting?
    Hello,

Quite often I see people use the word ';ranting'; especially when they are losing the argument badly. Many answers to foolish questions are well thought out and cited. Often the trolling questions seem to get the most answers so as ridiculous as they may be, there is indeed that market so to speak.

If I ask a question like a critique on certain chapters of Henry VIII's Defense Of The Seven Sacraments or something on particular Canon laws, I'm lucky to get 3 or 4 answers but if I say something like the Pope is the Anti-Christ or if a time machine were built, I'd assasinate Martin Luther before Hitler then I'd get a barrage of 50 + answers... for my personal entertainment!

    Cheers,

Notice that non-questions are a violation that should be Reported.

    Why?

Some people like to rile up others. Some are deluded enough to think they're ';getting people to think.'; Some are bored.

I must admit, I fall prey to them often enough. (MORE than 'enough' I suppose)

Dunno why, but ranting is just FUN.
    like what???

    Rant about political correctness?

Rant about anything that annoys you to do with PC, health and safety etcRant about political correctness?

It annoys me that working men, the real backbone of this country, set out to do a days work and end up being maimed or killed because of the greed or utter callousness of people who sit at desks and pontificate.

It annoys me that greedy men will snipe at the measures put in place to protect the innocent.

It really annoys me that in the 21st century, working people are still considered the playthings of the wealthy.
The pc brigade continually think up stupid things to ban in case it might offend anyone like the word Christmas or harmless words in a nursery rhyme or being a Christian etc etc etc, I could go on for ever. The thing is most of the time these things aren't offending anyone. Why should these faceless people get away with their constant meddling and interference in our everyday lives. The only ones causing offence are them.
Alkies get preferential treatment because they have a ';disease'; loosing a job to an alky during the recent pay offs sort of makes one quite annoyed, i'm sober in work they're stinking of drink and half cut every day and i get the heave ho!
I think political correctness can be over the top, but sometimes the pendulum can swing the other way and people use 'it's political correctness gone mad' to justify coming out with the most obnoxious beliefs as if they were commonly held.
I miss people talking real thoughts with and full flavor.

The Times Exploits Justice O'Connor's Husband's Medical Condition for Political Rant

I have to say, this little L.A.Times editorial really takes the cake for insensitivity. It should receive some sort of award for being one of the most gauche pieces I've seen from the extreme leftists masquerading as ';journalists'; for a long, long time. Yes, the Times deserves condemnation for exploiting someone's tragedy to make a mere political point.

In ';Sandra Day O'Connor's loss, and ours,'; the Times laments that because of the former Justice's husband's Alzheimer's disease, Sandra Day quit the bench so we lost her to the court and that loss has resulted in the court being ';radically tilted to the right.'; Imagine exploiting John O'Connor's disease like this? If a Republican had written this editorial, imagine the hate that would be spewed against him?

This is really a shocking editorial.:

That is your negative and politically driven interpretation of that editorial. To me they just stated a political fact, didn't gloat about her husband's illness, nor criticize her decision.I read the editorial as a homage to Justice O'Connor and agree with its content. The Times Exploits Justice O'Connor's Husband's Medical Condition for Political Rant?
    No, it is not exploitation.

Also, you did not have to say this, Warner Todd Huston did.
I read the same yester morning. I didn't get as upset as you but it definitely struck as poor and n bad taste. Elsewhere in the same paper there was articles about the cut back at LA Times to save money. I thought there would be a good place to start.

In honor of the fallen, could we maybe stop all the political ranting on here until 9/12?

I know, it's asking a lot more than just a moment of silence, but frankly I'm sick of all the back-and-forth jabberwocky between the sides (especially the rampant racism that just keeps getting worse and worse!).

Eight years ago we came together as a country, even just briefly. Does it really take such a horribly tragedy like that for us to lay down our battle rattle and stop stabbing each other in the backs?

Frankly, I'm tired of the bloodshed.

So, that's my simple request: A few simple hours of peace between the sides. No negative political rants on Y!A, at least until September 12.

Can we do it?In honor of the fallen, could we maybe stop all the political ranting on here until 9/12?
    FANTASTIC IDEA.

Yes.In honor of the fallen, could we maybe stop all the political ranting on here until 9/12?
Im not saying that we shouldn't get rid of the stupid, uneducated arguments (and yes, we should do away with the racism)

But a major part of being America is the ability of free speech, and the right to your own opinion, if we stop debating about important issues (Health Care...Energy...etc) for 9/11, its almost hypocritical, to stop our American rights in order to honor an American disaster.
I remember after 9/11 how much bi partisanship took place it felt like it was good and everyone was working together.

I didn't say that was a good thing though it was because of that bi partisanship that democrats voted for the Invasion of iraq and now we can't ever back out.

It does bother me when people ask questions in an attempt to prove a point. Then again, I'm asking some questions about communism and the lyrics of a John Lennon song right now to prove a point. But seriously, this isn't that kind of forum. There are forums meant for political bickering and when I want to do that I go to those forums, I wish other people here would do the same.

Silly questions, on the other hand, are cool with me, and even if its a little politcal or religious, as long as its in good fun. I hate all the insulting.
Maybe this is the only avenue available to them. Or else, I assume they are coward and wouldn't say it in person.

And... I agree every celebrity from either side should just butt out of politics and let the issues speak to them privately, make thier decision and leave it be. Sometimes it ruins the music, the movie or the fan base you had previously going good for you, I think
LOL...Interesting thing about most celebrities. If you just ignore them and refuse to buy their product, or support their career when they offend you, then they usually either disappear entirely, or shut up for the good of their career. Just ask the Dixie Chicks, Tim Robbins or Danny Glover, to name just a few, how well political activism worked for their public image.
Celebrities should NEVER be allowed to voice any opinion in politics, because they are too much in the limelight and it's not entertainment, it's the future of your country.

And Madonna is a total idiot for even bringing Hitler of all people into this. It's the most aweful thing I've ever heard come out of that tramp's mouth - and she should be FORCED to give a public apology to McCain for that.

What a moron. I despise Madonna just for that now.
You are highly uneducated in regards to this so called ';rant';.

she didnt speak. Its a video montage being played while she is not even on stage. You take from it what you like...

You ignore if you dont like. Either way, you should focus your energy on helping the world instead of polluting it with more hate.

I didn't even know that she went on a political rant, since I don't pay attention to anything she says (or sings).
Does that extend to all the country singers who are pro-war and pro-Republican, like Toby Keith and Big %26amp; Rich? Or is it just against those with whom you disagree?
Can the opinion of someone who blew Dennis Rodman mean much of anything ?
Madonna was right on the mark.
Can you give me a link I have got to hear this.
    YES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    YES!!!!!
hey.. most of them are citizens too.. if you can rant on YA they can rant on the red carpet.

EDIT - how do you know what people paid for? knowing she's controversial and out spoken, i assume that would be part of the entertainment,

and you are still free to not buy a ticket to the show.

or are you concerned her harangue might actually stir the apathetic masses to think and feel something about this important election

EDIT - pat buchanan (a republican) said john mccain will make dick cheney look like ghandi and cheney is one scary mutha.

EDIT - rebop - i thought you'd appreciate Kid Rock's rant on politics...

    ';I truly believe that people like myself, who are in a position of entertainers in the limelight, should keep their mouth shut on politics,'; the rap-rock musician, 37, tells CMT Insider';

  • Political Rant not really a ? but feel free to comment?

I've been answering political questions all morning and this is just a rant.

Ok so 48% of the voting population didn't vote for Obama. Yet, when anyone disagrees with the Democrats about anything they are demeaned or called names like stupid Bible humpers, even though there are legitimate complaints about the current administration and legislation that has been passed. ex: the stimulus package- Fox interviewed Congressmen who admitted to not reading the bill. Its not like I blame them entirely, the thing was a couple thousand pages long. And the White House rammed it down their throats.

But really become politically informed before you start demeaning people, have common courtesy. If you are just insulting people you look like you have no idea what you're talking about and you can't hold an intelligent conversation with someone with an opposing view point.

It goes for conservatives too. You just make your own side look bad when you can't talk about issues.

I actually gained much more respect for Obama when O'Reilly interviewed him. I feel like he is one of the few people who was asking questions that lay people what to know, and in turn Obama gave him very straightforward answers. None of this celebrity BS, where nobody is serious. I thought it was conducted better than the debates, no floozy Q%26amp;As.

In debate and logic it's called an ';ad hominen'; to dissuade from an opinion by abusing the character of its holder rather than to convince by means of reason or intellect.

    to each his own opinion.

This is the reality- that people are entitled to their own opinion.

What you seem to want to accomplish by complaining is mess around with what people SHOULD MULL AROUND IN THEIR HEADS.

so go ahead and bow to your messiah. and leave the rest of the other citizens alone.

    Shoo.
We are all entitled to our opinions, but yes, I prefer educated opinions too.

I see a lot of political ranting...are people who rant...registered voters?

On and on I have waded through the negative political discourse on these boards but how many of you are actually registered voters and are you going to vote on the midterm...or are all you going to b#%th and complain about the outcome...no hating please (for example Bush stinks or the libs are evil...just honest answers...I see a lot of political ranting...are people who rant...registered voters?

In America, people have options. Maybe they are disappointed with bogus candidates and stolen elections and have stopped voting. Maybe they actually are registered voters who are still giving the broken system a chance. Only 33 percent of the population votes. There needs to be more discourse between writers on this board and politicians and the media before change can be affected. Try it
i am annd don't give a F about weather others are or not
I haven't missed a general election in almost 40 years. I make most of the primaries, too.
well..I plan to do both! I talk to co-workers about their views and tell them mine. I read the paper, ads, mail promos, and listen to the news. And I can get on my soapbox pretty quickly about what bugs the h*ll out of me..but you can bet that I will be in line at 6:00a.m. to vote, too..and if the wrong person gets voted in..the cycle will start all over as I will hold them accountable to do their job or here from me!
I vote in every election and I rant occasionally.
    I don't rant and I do vote....

    2 cents; I didn't vote for Bush.

%26gt;Bush: 'History Cannot Judge Me If I End It Soon'

    September 7, 2006 | Issue 42鈥?6

WASHINGTON, DC鈥擠espite, or perhaps because of, rising fuel prices, the unpopularity of the U.S. presence in Iraq, and mounting legal problems surrounding his administration, President Bush informed his Cabinet Monday that he is unworried about his place in history, White House sources said. ';I'm telling you, pretty soon some things are going to develop so that I won't have history to worry about any longer,'; Bush said. ';History may be written by the winners, but it doesn't get written at all if all of human language is lost in, say, fire storms, right? So I can still get off the hook.'; Although troubles faced by his presidency have been relatively recent, sources said they believed Bush's plan had been put into motion long before he had even taken office.

THAT is an example of why I didn't and WILL NOT vote Repubicunt/Bushit!!!!!
I vote, and with that, I get a jury summons every few months.

Most people who rant are not registered or have never voted.

Why? Because even if they say ';if you don't vote you can't complain'; - people complain anyway. It's human nature.
I rant and I waste my time using the 'voting' machines.

Your vote is your dollar. If you want change, keep it in your pocket. The machines don't count.
Damn straight I'm registered. Not only that, I call and write my representative and senators and donate to the causes I believe in.

I doubt there's a lot of ranters who aren't registered, and definitely none that would admit it here.
I always vote for everything. It gives me the right to complain or praise.
I HATE people who complain and then don't vote! I have heard so many anti Bush rants and I was just like... did you vote??? No, its not like one vote counts. EVERY VOTE COUNTS.

I am registered, and have voted in every election since I turned 18! So I have a right to ********* about him!
Bush is our president. Evil or Saint.

I am a regeistered voter and will be voting for ................................ in 08
Yes I do, yes I will .. and yes, I will continue to speak my beliefs.
I rant a lot, just not here

I registered to vote the day I turned 19. 18 year olds couldn't vote when I was 18 so I had to wait. I voted in every election at first but I lost interest. It seemed that we simply didn't have any more choices. Everyone who ran looked the same to me, they all said the same things, made the same promises, did the same dirty deals. I was never too interested in politics but I became absolutely apolitical.

Then I retired from the Army and moved to Austin just about the time George W. Bush became Governor of Texas. I never could figure out how a failed business man with no experience could so easily beat someone like Ann Richards. It just so happened I worked right across the street from him and I watched for 5 years as he did absolutely nothing except somehow, get re-elected. I actually had the chance to meet him on more than once occasion but he was such a nothing to me I just walked on by.

Suddenly, without warning, this do nothing was talking about running for President. I watched in disbelief as he ran and WON. I didn't vote in that election either, he had Texas in his pocket, there didn't seem much point. I thought, ';Well, he didn't do squat in Texas, how much harm can he do.'; Well, ol' George had a few tricks up his sleeve. He set me back on heels when one of his first official acts was his Axis of Evil speech. Seems kind of silly to piss those people off for no good reason but I still didn't expect him to do much.

Them Sept 11 happened and everything changed. George stopped being Mr Do-Nothing and started ripping the constitution apart, something I had served 20 years in the Army to defend. I became much more interested in politics and I did something I have never done in my entire life, in fact, something I used to deride others over and that was vote a straight Democratic ticket in 2004. I always considered myself a conservative but Bush made that a dirty word, he made it someone who believes he is always right and everyone else is always wrong.

As you can see, I rant pretty good. Now I vote too, even if I have to vote against someone instead of for someone else.
    some are, some arent.

some people just truly enjoy complaining about politics and politicians. Its like a hobby.

    Pity them...they are deserving.
Most people who spew political chants are either not registered or probably dont vote if they are.
    Most of them are not!
I am registered, and I encourage others to contact their county clerk and have their names placed on the permanent list for absentee voting. There are too many problems with the computerised bean counters that have been sold to local governments. I have signs in my yard and will do campaign work for candidates. Last year I worked for the national committee. I'm too busy to rant and hate. Thanks for the question!
YES I vote Yes I rant YES as an American I have that right.

What do you think of this singer's political rant?

The singer of this hardcore band gives a fairly insightful pre-song rant. And yes, they're covering U2.What do you think of this singer's political rant?
    What a moron.

If it was all about the oil, we would not have given control of the Oil back to the Iraqi's. Simply just another ill-informed entertainer. What do you think of this singer's political rant?
Maybe she should stay out of America then.....take most of Hollywood with you please!
He makes a hell of a point and can sing pretty good too.

Do you enjoy partisan political questions that aren't really questions but talking points or incoherent rants?

Sometimes they are amusing, usually they are depressing, even when I agree with them. I think yahoo should create a moderated debate site, or bring back the message boards on the news articles. Ever since they stopped the news message boards, people have looked for an outlet here.Do you enjoy partisan political questions that aren't really questions but talking points or incoherent rants?
NO. If all you want to do is blast out your thoughts with no desire to learn what people really think in an attempt to better yourself and your understanding of the world, join another forum. Y!A's question and answer format should not be abused to spread your own biased beliefs under the guise of ';asking'; whether Liberals are diseased or Bush is the devil reincarnate.Do you enjoy partisan political questions that aren't really questions but talking points or incoherent rants?
Some of them are good for a chuckle.
    No.
for some reason i really enjoy reading them.

it's not that i actually find them worth reading, informative, or intelligent. it's that i must really enjoy taking the bait.

i convince myself that it's helpful to my arguing.
Mostly uninformed, stupid, rants, talking points, hatred and on and on. Once in a long while do I read a question that is profound and well thought out.
    I love right-wing rants!
They're almost as enjoyable as getting a root canal, without the Novocaine.
They are only incoherent if they are coming from a liberal Democrat . It's a prerequisite of being a Democrat . Look at your question You must enjoy it
sure, almost as much as i enjoy clones
yes, i enjoy them. some of them are pretty funny. a few of them are actually innovative
No. I tried to escape to the Religion and spirituality section and between the witches and devil worshippers and the psychic's and the KKK, and all the loonbats, I came back to politics for more torture.

I highly recommend a break or two, maybe in the nice ';pet'; section.
I don't. Most of them are very uninformed as well.
i enjoy my own and a few others, not the Bush lied rant because I am sick of that one.

I want you're best political rant here....!?

Ok, I want to know just what anyone and everyone thinks about as far as anything political today. So I guess if I have to ask a question to keep it on yahoo answers....

What is/are you're views on any political issue(s) today? Just rant people. I don't care if you're liberal or conservative.I want you're best political rant here....!?
The two party system is tearing your country apart. You either hate or love: Bush, Obama, Palin, Pelosi, Clinton, Clinton, Rush L., Michale Moore, etc. When everything Obama is either great or stupid, there is no debate, no intelligent discourse and no happiness. I think the US needs an upside, inside out day where Liberals have to argue Conservative philosophy and visa-versa for a day. Y!A should, on that day, refuse to post answers in the political section unless it includes at least one legitimate concession. i.e. O'Reilly is a total lying scumbag but I admire his passion and I respect that he stands up for what he believes.I want you're best political rant here....!?
You just want to pick us off, don`t you? You can still report us even if we don`t rant. You`ll lose points and your account if you are proven wrong with enough erroneous reports.
The politics section is exciting. Never a dull moment. But we can't rant because its against TOS rules.
    YES WE CAN!

Is there anything new about Tony Blair speech, same old political ranting, grovelling and canvassing.?

    I thought it was a very good speech. I don't really like the bloke but I have to say that politically he is a very astute bloke. i read the speech as him saying. ';You ungrateful 5hits!! You were un-electable without me. Remember??';

I still wont forgive him for Iraq and the 5hit we now have when we go through an airport but I don't think it would have been better under GB. In fact if GB was the leader of Labour I really don't think labour would be in power. Is there anything new about Tony Blair speech, same old political ranting, grovelling and canvassing.?
Same old promises but no benefit for the people. Is there anything new about Tony Blair speech, same old political ranting, grovelling and canvassing.?

Same old same old - good leader who's time is up.

    ';terrorism is not a response to our foreign policy, it's an attack on our way of life';

How many real questions do you see in this section? Some people think constant insults earn themselves political points.Should Yahoo Answers create a Rant section for the political trolls?
    That's a great idea!

After scanning the first 3 pages of this category and finding rant after rant, clearly it would be a useful sub-category! Clear the way for people who don't want to wade through all the sewage. And stop me from wasting time thinking about composing a response to something that isn't really a question anyway. If I post the 'answer' I feel crap, and if I don't I move on feeling sorta slimed. If there are some folks who like to get on and get off on name-calling and baiting, then let them go play with themselves in their own, special place!Should Yahoo Answers create a Rant section for the political trolls?
    It already has.

You posted your question on it.

And, for what it's worth, I agree with you 100% that some people think that their agenda of insults and ridiculous questions (and answers) will win them support for their views.

When ranting for links supporting political questions / answers, why?

Why do MOST liberals post links supplied by extreme leftist organizations?

If a conservative posts a noted, non-biased site - the liberals cry no contest and claim it's fake.

Do you think they're trying to learn a way to sniff carbon footprints since sniffing glue is illegal?

All joking aside, what gives? When ranting for links supporting political questions / answers, why?
When you have so little to base an opinion on, you have to grasp for those far, far left wing straws. When ranting for links supporting political questions / answers, why?
Unless the site is MichaelMoore.com, wikipedia, or some crap like that, I look at the site.

Then I take what the site says and do my own search on it.

To b*tch about the source instead of the information is just an excuse to NOT have to debate the issue.

I've noticed it is a highly used technique.
There was a con that claimed a link to a Snopes article was biased and not true. Imagine that!
Yea, sources like WND, InsightMag, NewsMax, NewsBusters, Fox News, Drudge, etc.

    Oh, you said NON-biased lol
Good question. Just keep it up - keep posting Census Bureau data and let them keep posting the same tired old made-up arguments - - - - - people do take notice.

Lefties make up their own reality, and then a good source is whatever confirms it - - - - rather than going to the raw data and forming a conclusion based on it, which is how I do it.

Mercerdevil ';how do you know'; is a cop-out. Treasury Dept. chart showing revenue at its highest level ever (yes, adjusted for inflation) is what it is. Census Bureau data is what it is. BLS explaining how the BLS calculates unemployment (i.e., pointing out that it has nothing to do with unemployment benefits) is what it is. And blanket, baseless statements that ';only the rich are benefiting'; are what they are.
How do you know it's a ';noted, non-biased site?'; Every news outlet in the country is accused of being liberal or conservative or (ususally) both. Since these sites are made by people, how do you those people haven't infused their own biases into the site? What standard can you compare a supposed ';unbiased'; site to when everything has been accused of being biased?
It goes back to their inability to face the truth, they can't handle the truth!~!
I see both sides doing this...
anyone can have an opinion...i guess even a bad or biased source is better than no source at all...

    so wheres yours?
Why does it matter if the link is factual. If the link is based on lies, then that's another thing. Like I've said to people before, you can't pick and chose where evidence comes from as long as it's correct.

Why do Citizens promote party planks and believe perverse political rant aimed at dividing their country?

Being a self-thinking person in a Democrat world is VERY unpopular! But, I want to know why the Democratic Party average voter is so completely smitten with party mantra that he/she refuses to even consider a broad-minded view of Life, the Democratic Political Party and its irresponsible rants, and seemingly all else in the world of rational thinking.

Oh! Republicans! I'm not one! However, why is it that a Republican President has to clean up our humanitarian lack in the world? The Democrat President before him gave refuge and aid to the barbarian regime that sponsored the Twin Towers Attacks, and now that party's members want to return our entire nation over to the same barbaric regime! To see how all America will be treated under the regime that attacked New York City, watch the beheadings by dull pocket knife. Or, don't the Democrats dare to face reality? They hate humans so much that they murder unborn people by mutilation! How dare we allow them to remain in operation? Why do Citizens promote party planks and believe perverse political rant aimed at dividing their country?
Because elections are about who wins government. In turn this aabout. The allocation of money thru the system (budget), the resolution of values issues and to correct the near perfect workings of the market. If we don't promote party planks and cease debating we have dictatorship. Why do Citizens promote party planks and believe perverse political rant aimed at dividing their country?
Ignorance is 'Bliss' until it becomes a 'Blister'!
At this point only republicans want people to think think the parties are the same. You are obviously one of those (you're not smart enough to fool us, you created a new ID so we would not see that all your past questions and answers give away your republican status), and I fully understand why you would do that, given the trouncing the american people have handed the Republicans. If I were a republican I might create a new identity also, so nobody will know how wrong I was about everything. Where was the ';uniting'; talk amongst the republicans when they were in power?
    if you want change..

    then step up..

    and change it..
The Question is great. The rant afterwords is sad.

Division in America is the greatest weakness we have.

Our enemies know it and they exploit it, it is their main strategy to defeat us..

    In Iraq

As bombs in mosques and markets slaughter civilians.

As random kidnappings of people off buses and murder them

As targeted assassinations of officials who get in their way

As slitting the throats of western hostages

    ETC

The groups are using the media to promote their atrocity of the day.

They are watching the media as we give them the politician/celebrity of the day announcing despair.

They are watching and change tactics. Slitting throats was counter productive so they stopped.

They are watching and waiting for us to leave as we did in Beirut and Mogadishu....

There is a difference between DIVISION and DEBATE.

    Debate is our strength.

Quarterbacking from the stands to gain political advantage is low.

Demonising Bush is irresponsible and stupid/dangerous to fellow Americans fighting for you.

    It encourages our enemies.

    Our politicians should be responsible.

What in a political speech/rant makes it ';nutty';?

Do you know ';nutty'; when you see it?

What kind of political assertion constitutes ';nuttiness';?

What the signs that give away a political ';nut';?

One guess: Saying they are strongly opposed to something on ';moral';(read:unproveable and/or unfounded grounds) when in fact in another place and time they would be free to oppose it as a matter of personal taste (i.e. Oppossition to interracial marriage in 1967 on ';religous'; grounds by, in fact, racists). What in a political speech/rant makes it ';nutty';?
    Usually something that is provably false. Like when Romney said, ';Freedom requires religion.';

Then there are conspiracy theories. Or ideas that clearly aren't workable, which come to think of it is most of them. What in a political speech/rant makes it ';nutty';?
    Any statement with which you disagree emotionally is ';nutty.';

Politics is the realm of wimpy force, not reason.

';Nuttiness'; always includes a pre-arranged agenda, without sourcing or qualified or properly stated a priori constructs.

No one should leave high school without learning how to balance a check-book, read their pay-check stubs, and without knowing the basics of LOGIC.
When they try to make a funny statement and they get nothing, and the awkwardness that follows from them trying to recover.

Or when they seem to desperate to prove the other wrong or show how right they are.
i think socialists like Obama and Clinton are nuts by definition. i also think mccain is nuts.

    Hillary examples: her ';35 years of experience [in the fields of bimbo control and criminal malfeasance]';

    McCain examples: ';bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran';

Obama example: saying that we ought to bomb Pakistan.

McCain example #2: saying today that Obama's statement regarding Pakistan was irrespinsible..... he would know.

morals are the foundations of every society that obeys the Rule of Law. They dont have to be proven, just accepted. ie-lying is morally wrong. thus lying under oath is illegal.
When someone lifts an entire speech from another person, and claims it as his own....that's pretty nutty.

When a candidate asks to name ONE accomplishment the other candidate has done....and he (or she) runs and hides, and people still want to vote for that candidate that has done absolutely nothing......

    That's pretty nutty.

    Arent all political satements rants?

Is there a opinions section in this site where you can ask for an opinion without someone reporting your question? I'm tired of my questions and answers being reported just because my opinion isnt liked. I'm just asking to get an idea of what other poeple think. Im going to laugh when someone reports this question. I guess I am ranting.Arent all political satements rants?
I am going to report this... seriously.Arent all political satements rants?
It would be nice to get a pole for fun as to who's doing the complaining. By in large, I'd bet its the liberals. Most liberals...but not all.....mess up the works by operating off emotion rather than facts or data. I'm sure we all get insensed over some topic, but its the libs that i've seen that want to too quickly jump on the band wagon, start a grass roots movement and hang the perpetrator from the tallest tree....before they even know enough to judge if the person is actually guilty.

How many times have we heard people decrying ';Bush lied, People died'; slogans..and many others about the current administration, .yet not many that i've talked to actually know what led to the Iraq war and what was actually said by the president or congress. Many can't even seem to recall the 4 years + we were in talks or the many times the weapons inspectors were in Iraq and got kicked out. They conveniently forget that most all of congress voted for the war...The UN supported it, all members signed a resolution as well including France. All was done with good intentions based on the best intelligence we had at the time. Meanwhlie the details seem to get lost....like for instance the head intel guy for Bush was a hold over from the Clinton era.

They like their slogans and believe what they are told by the liberal press. They like their clique blogs and they don't like to be told they got it all wrong or don't have all the information.

Of course, these are generalities i've noticed myself in talking to libs or democrats, it isn't scientific since I can't guarrantee its an acual 'cross-section' of all libs, and it isn't all inclusive, but seems there's alot of statistics that back me up on this opinion. I guess it depends on who you trust for info and how deep you dig for the truth.

IThose few that do claim to dig deep can always be challenged by what side they take or who they vote for. It doesn't make much sense when you have say a candidate surrounded in corruption and scandal and they vote for that person anyways...despite the evidence.
For your own edification and/or amusement review Yahoo!Answers community guidelines. Therein it clearly states that they're not running a debating forum nor providing a soap box for everyone with an axe to grind.

What breed of puppy do you think would be perfect for the First Family, and why? Please no political rants?

Barack Obama promised his daughters a puppy. He later said he didn't want a ';yappy'; little dog, saying they were ';girly dogs.'; But Mrs. Obama objected to that characterization and asked, ';What's wrong with that?'; He said he wanted a ';boisterous'; medium-large dog. Obviously the family hasn't come to an agreement yet. So what breed do you think would be the perfect breed for this family? (PLEASE no political rants, this question is about dog breeds; thanks.)What breed of puppy do you think would be perfect for the First Family, and why? Please no political rants?
Honestly probably either a Portugese Water Spaniel or a Poodle. Standard size. Both are for the most part hypo-allergenic and you do not have a shedding issue that may aggravate Melia's asthma. Plus they would be boisterous enough for President-elect Obama to play with yet girly in appearance for his wife Michelle. What breed of puppy do you think would be perfect for the First Family, and why? Please no political rants?
I'm not on a political rant, but one from a rescue centre would be good. Mongrels are good family pets as they are more hardy and don't have so much health problems as pure breeds. Also, if that's what you really want, then you do get breeds in rescue centres. Plus you have the added benefit of the staff at the rescue centre having knowledge of the temperament of the dog and can then match you up with the best dog to fit in with your family.
I have a family of 5 with a 14, 7, and 8 year old (all boys) along with me and my wife and we recently bought a Cockapoo. It is a mix between a Cockerspaniel and a Poodle, and we love her! She is about 1'6'; and about 23lbs and is beautiful. She is very active and fun but can be very calm when everyone else is. So I reccomend a Cockapoo.
Standard Poodle. At least one child has allergies, so the Poodle is the obvious choice. A Standard is not yappy or girly (depending on haircut), they are very energetic, intelligent, regal dogs. I think it's the perfect choice.
    a cavalier king charles spanial

theyre beautiful, not too big and not too small, with a great bark and a quiet, child friendly temperament.

but, they do snore and can hav heart problems.

    best family dog.

    personally tho, i prefer cats.
If they want one that's obedient they should go with a Gray Hound. If they want a playful AND obedient they should get a yellow lab. If they want just a playful/cute dog they should get a basset Hound.
    Uhh Golden Retrievers

I had one for 15 long yrs. they are very sweet dogs and they can handle kids poking and climbing on it. since I stuck my finger up his nostril. I was only 5!!

    Good Luck Obama Family.
Beagle, Bloodhound, Basset Hound, or Lab/Retriever.
I think that the Obama family should get a mini schnauzer.
If i were Obama i would get a

    st.bernard

    or a dalmation
labrador or golden retriever. They are very family oriented and good dogs.
i got a westie 5 years ago when i was 12 and it a rlly good dog not to big not to small easily trained
They should adopt a pitt bull.
    Pitt Bull
i think a pomerian or a golden retriever because they dont really act bad
    golden retriever or a husky!!
lab...good with kids, gentle yet protective
Growing up we had a few mixed breeds, and we also had a beagle, another time we had a black lab which was okay. My husband had a schnauzer who was a good dog.

Since we have been married we had a collie mix who didn't work out too well, someone had a poodle pup they could no longer keep so we took him in but he was hard to house break so he didn't work out for us, we got a pup mix when my daughter was born it was a peeka chi and it was nasty even as a pup so we returned him and got a shihzu and we had her for 10 yrs until she died from the food recall in 2007.Our hearts were so broken that we went out and got another shihzu and he is just as sweet as our other one was, the only difference is that our first one never touched anything that wasn't hers, where this little bugger will snatch a sock from the laundry basket every chance he gets.

They are faithful and very smart. He was house broken in just a week.

My husband used to say small dogs aren't dogs. But now that he has seen the temperment and loyalty of shihzu's not just ours, but other people who have one, he said if he ever had to get another dog, it would be a shihzu.

My parents are in their 70's and they have had a schnauzer who is very good too, but he barks at anything and everything and my father can't stand it, often times says he has to get rid of the dog, can't take it anymore.

If you want a dog that is friendly, gentle, loyal, not yappy and hyper, doesn't jump on people when they come into the house, a shihzu would be one I would say is type of dog you want. plus they don't shed so no allergy worries or hairs all over your clothes and furniture.

  • What is with people using YA as a forum for their political rants?

I've seen peoples-left center and the rest- put out a rant under the guise of asking a question. All of that and the name calling just divides us and prevents the unity that Obama wants to bring. Why can't people just use YA for legitimate questions they are genuinely looking for an answer for and save the rants for more appropriate places? What is with people using YA as a forum for their political rants?
Well, why are you ranting here? Is a pretty good answer to your question.

EDIT: OK, point to you! What is with people using YA as a forum for their political rants?
    The left wing is fighting.

They feel the right wing is using Yahoo to influence lazy reporters.
    technically, you are ranting.
I agree with you. But you are ranting.
    Is this a rant?

Should there be a political ranting category?

I think there should be so then all of the ranting trolls can bicker and the people that ask reasonable, legitimate questions can actually have some intellegent political debates.Should there be a political ranting category?
You asked what Ive been thinking about for a month now. Absolutely. Most of the political q/a is out of control.Should there be a political ranting category?
There would be so few left in the politics category, you might have to debate yourself...lol
There is. You are on it. So am I.
    I thought this was it.
    There already is.

    It's called the 'Elections' category.
Not a bad idea! Seriously, suggest this to the Y/A board!
it seems they already have one, considering yahoo won't stop it
lol...would that be fair and balanced?
Should be, but it would still get posted here.
All they need to do is post links to blogs.

    lol
yes, it should be liberal alley or democrat corner.

    Credible political rants?

Don't ppl know that when they use ';huffington post';, ';wikipedia'; and ';move on'; as a source to back up their ideology, they automatically lose credibility?Credible political rants?
I love how people scoff at Fox as biased hateful right wing rhetoric,

Yet Hillary Clinton's entired campaign has acknowleged that Fox was the only fair news channel to thier campaign during the primary.

And yes they lose credibility with me if they cite Huffington Post or KoS.Credible political rants?
I would trust wikipedia over NBC

AIS: last time I checked Rush has never said he is a news source. He's a political commentator and does not try to hide the fact that he is bias...unlike many in the AP. He gives his opinions and when he does present facts he sources them from credible sources.
Well how about this. Go to any news source, and you can see that Islamic Extremists still want to kill Americans and will do anything to accomplish their goal.

In case you didn't realize it, terrorists are a threat. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,4238鈥?/a>

This happened two hours ago. I hope God has mercy on your soul.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7鈥?/a>

How about, If elected will Obama get delivered messages from Islamic extremists attacking us. I hate people preaching all of this peace crap while people want to kill them.
Yes, but the ignorant don't want to be challenged, they just want want information to agree with their preconceived notions. Fox, No. 1 overall news network, I can hear people crying already...
That's true. When I see ';Daily Kos'; I immediately dismiss everything else they say.
There are some wacko sources on the internet.
Funny how you put huffpo and moveon up there and fail to mention newsmax, Rush Limbaugh and Fox News.

let's leave them alone, and talk to some people that understand politics and news a little more ja?
That's probably because you hate losing arguments for well known information that they present.
Not as much as those who cite FOX.

Are there any conservatives who find Ann Coulter's political rants unfounded and offensive???

The only rant artists I like are Dennis Miller and Dennis Leary. Are there any conservatives who find Ann Coulter's political rants unfounded and offensive???
I'm a conservative and I do find these types of comments offensive. Sorry that there are 100 to 1 liberals who say so much worse but the media gives them a pass. They seem to think we are all stupid and unable to think reasonably. They judge us by their own behavior and mentality. They are so wrong. Are there any conservatives who find Ann Coulter's political rants unfounded and offensive???
I feel sorry for anyone who finds foundation in her rants and does not find them offensive.

She is entertainment only, not a basis for political ideas.
As many as Liberals who find Harry Reid's (D-Nevada) comments about losing the war.
    Yes
I sure hope so. She is quite simply REPREHENSIBLE.
Before you start whining about Ann Coulter maybe you should look at the unfounded and offensive rants by those in the strongly liberally slanted media and the outright lies by most democrats!
She makes a ton of money by being outrageous and feeding on the hate and mean-spiritedness of the far right. She simply copies the Nazi playbook, changes the labels of the enemies and is successful at selling it. She鈥檚 not very original. The more outrageous she is, the more attention she gets and she will push it beyond the limits.
offensive? maybe so.. but if the shoe fits!....

    unfounded?.. definitely not!
Any in particular you concerned about? I think she's pretty much spot on with her assessments.
Ann Coulter ROCKS. You go girl.
No more offensive than Liberal personalities that do the same. Except Ann actually has facts to back herself up with. She can get out of line sometimes, but she is an intelligent woman.
And Rosie is the beacon of truth.....ahhh the left, free speech for all, as long is it is what we want you to hear..
Sharpton has done more damage yet dems lap at his feet.
no, I'm more offended by the ';unfounded, offensive political rants'; of Maureen Dowd
Nope. She's only responding to the liberal moonbats in a language they understand.

    P.S. Ann is HOT!!
I agree with kapute2 - Ann is no worse than Dowd or any of the morons on Airhead America. She's just as entitled to freedom of speech as you are. I know that pisses the left off, but there it is.
Not me. She's just giving back what the left dishes out.
You gotta love Ann. She's smart, her ';rants'; maintain foundation, and she's not ugly stupid and fat like Rosie.
a little crude, but just playing the game the way the left has for years.
Anything that Ann says has foundation. It is a pleasure to hear her point of view

Is it funny hearing serious political ranting from people like they have experienced it all just find out?

It's not funny because a lot of it is just recycled opinion they've heard through the media. They don't seem to be able to listen to all points of view, do research of their own, and come up with their own ideas. I don't think this is just young people though.

Do you think it's a good idea to check facts before spewing political rants on here?

Anderson CooperWithout a political rant, who is your favorite TV anchor for election news?
I've just recently discovered MSNBC and I like a lot of them guys. But I absolutely detest election returns because they make me so stressed and make me feel so helpless (nothing more I can do but but but...). Usually we go out to a movie and dinner just to escape having to hear anything but you still get drips and drabs (because people just cannot shut up) which spoils the night for me. So this year, we're watching the West Wing series, eating pizza and ice cream.
I've always had a soft spot for Shepard Smith. He seems like he be cool to hang out with and talk about gossip and stupid crap.

Oh, election news. Rachel Maddow. Yes, she's biased, but she's actually cool headed and supports her assertions with facts.

I like the pick more and more everyday.ARe the Dems political leaders rants against Sarah Palin completely out of control?
Denny Crane.... no wait... Sarah Palin now that's a name that strikes fear in the bleeding heart of a liberal.
    Yes.

Most skeptics ask political rants disguised as rhetorical questions, why can't they focus on the science?

I'm afraid it works both ways in here, there are a lot of rhetorical questions by people that believe in AGW disguised as science questions. Rhetorical questions do not belong on YA, as much as we'd like to make a particular point. Most skeptics ask political rants disguised as rhetorical questions, why can't they focus on the science?
The true dynamic of science in the universe, both that which we understand and that which we do not, will continue regardless of our survival rate as a human species. The spin in space is bigger than we are.

The world will NOT end but - we may end as a species and so may thousands (if not millions) of others through our lack of understanding and irresponsibility toward the things we do understand. It's too simple but it's not easy.

I am a confirmed skeptic. I also choose science as my platform rather than political agenda. Fact supercedes opinion as the strongest point of arguement. Most skeptics ask political rants disguised as rhetorical questions, why can't they focus on the science?
They don't care about the science, mainly because they can't understand it.

Many of them, in the USA at least, wouldn't care about AGW if Al Gore hadn't jumped on the bandwagon and over sensationalised it.

But because he did those that opposed his politics now refuse to believe in AGW.

Pretty stupid to let politics blinker your thinking on such a major issue really.
Yahoo is not going to necessarily attract experts in the field of climate science to debate the issue. But there are many climate skeptic blogs that do talk about the science. I suggest you go there if you are interested in a more scientific discussion.
because when one is not a gorean disciple, any reference to actual scientific FACT is 'rebutted' with ';that failed theory was disproved long ago.'; despite the fact being current correct and proved.

AWG zealotry cannot be argued against rationally.
Because the science isn't on their side, and they only reason they've convinced themselves that AGW is wrong is for political reasons.
Because politics (such as Al Gore representing Global Warming) are a good counter attack on believes of climate shift. There will always be debate until the world ends finally.
It is a political movement that has about as much to do with science as late night psychics.

Why do people post crazy political rants? I seriously don't understand what they are trying to accomplish.....?

I've been reading and laughing at all of the crazy political rant posts on this forum for a while and I honestly don't understand why people do it. It never goes well for the poster, because political rants on either side always seem to be full of opinionated garbage and silly lies they got from some TV ad or extremist website. So they get shot down or made fun of... I guess they're just looking for confirmation or to pick a fight? Why do people post crazy political rants? I seriously don't understand what they are trying to accomplish.....?
as long as ranting is easier than researching, lazy people will have political opinions.

Seriously, politics is the most boring subject on the planet. I don't blame people for not wanting to research it. But I do blame them for not researching and then voting.

The uniformed voter, not terrorists, is the biggest danger facing the US today. Why do people post crazy political rants? I seriously don't understand what they are trying to accomplish.....?
Some of the rants have good points, but are dismissed by people. To me people do not understand the ramifications of an Obama administration, especially if we get government controlled healthcare. But be careful of what you wish for, you may not like the results. Especially if the government is getting involved in our personal medical lives.
Just looking for attention, is my take. I rarely bother to reply to a rant, except to make a statement that more could be accomplished with civility and the measured exchange of opinions.

Sometimes I think the last real debates occurred in the nineteenth century.
    Good question.

Me thinks this is the only place they get an ';audience';.\

the only place they don't get to feel that criticism and rejection ';up close and personal';.

    both sides!
They are either venting or flaming. It's an immature way to express how little they know about real issues. I certainly hope most of them are not old enought to vote!
Given the lack of truth in our own media, the internet at least offers a place for people to vent.

  • Who on the internet rants about political issues?

On the left. Somebody like the late comedian Bill Hicks that would give death threats to people while he was on stage. I'm looking for somebody like this that talks about all the current political situations like this.Who on the internet rants about political issues?
Bill Maher fits the bill as a pretty blunt left-wing commentator, although I don't know how much from him you would find on the internet. I know he had an official blog on his website at one point, though, where he did a lot of political ranting.

How often do the people who post political rants on here actually take action in real life?

Could you provide an example of what you mean? I'm not sure what you are asking. How often do the people who post political rants on here actually take action in real life?
    well....

i'm sure when they say 'support obama' or 'support mccain' they do go out there and give their opinions, or put a bumper sticker on their car...

but there's not a whole lot people can do....

we're not in the senate, and we don't have control over the pollsHow often do the people who post political rants on here actually take action in real life?
    Probably never..
I don't actually post political rants. I do however write my congressional representatives often. I have contacts of every major national special interest group and a few locals and I have contacts within media affilliates. If I cant get what I want by being nice well I just make trouble for people by putting them in a room with people who hate them.
not to often-thankfully cause McCain/Palin,Obama/Biden would have been poisoned, shot, maimed, etc... 90 times over.
Not often ..volunteer i dont care who you vote for but get involved there are local campaign offices all over the country! Mcain supporters get into it NOW!
    20%, at best...
I say the crazy things on here I say in real life I am not a hypocrite. I keep it real!
I for one attend local government meetings, speak on topics important to me,

at a state and national level:

campaign for my candidates, make donations, send emails, attend gatherings, etc.

is that what you mean by take action?

However, I don't post much in the way of ';:rants';.
You mean like the guy who shouted 'kill him' kill him at Palin's rally.. Hopefully if we can keep them here on Yahoo Answers, and there are some examples of this, hopefully they won't hurt anyone outside.
    Thankfully, very few.

What would you say are the actual percentage of questions in YA Politics vs wild political rants?

95-5 %. The 95 is just insults and rants. Just guessing but that has to be close. What would you say are the actual percentage of questions in YA Politics vs wild political rants?
i would have to count them all then figure out percentages but can not as the lists are too many and i don't think YA archive's them all so it is impossible to answer the question. at any rate it seems that there are more rants as questions rants from both sides of the fenceWhat would you say are the actual percentage of questions in YA Politics vs wild political rants?
All i read are crazy rants with no facts to back them up and stupid hypocritical insults from both side!

I'm voting for who i feel is best for our country at this time. I also wish that both candidates would just do whats best for the country as whole, equally among all!!

Has anyone lost respect for a favorite celebrity due to their relentless political rants?

I don't honestly care about any celebrity's political views one way or another.

I only get ticked off when it's a musician...who I've probably paid $50 or so to see...who starts railing about politics. Even if they're supporting ';my guy'; I paid for a concert not a lecture. If that's what they intend to present, then truth in advertising SHOULD specify that they say ';By the way, there will be a 10 minute extended rant as part of my show...'; in the radio spots for the concert. :P

Movie stars aren't the same category to me because I don't watch celeb gossip shows. If I know a movie is a great big pile-on for someone I like politically, I boycott with my wallet and spend that money on something else.Has anyone lost respect for a favorite celebrity due to their relentless political rants?
They are in the public eye. You wouldn't see me plastered all over the news when I have a rant about that psycho Palin. You know why because I'm not a celebrity. Everything they do is scrutinized. Besides if you really let an actors personal opinion get to you to where you won't watch their movies or buy a cd, then you are the true anti-american. I like John Voight but he's voting for Mccain I don't agree with him but that wouldn't make me stop watching his movies that's just ridiculous...I would name more celebrities but I can't think of any more that are voting for mccain. Has anyone lost respect for a favorite celebrity due to their relentless political rants?
NO ONE SHOULD LISTEN TO SOMEONE WHO IS PAID TO PERFORM.

Madonna is jealous of Sarah Palin.

Just because someone is in front of a camera does not mean they have a clue about politics they are mostly Democrats that are afraid to be on the right side if they do they may not get any more contracts to perform.

I would listen to the person who cuts your hair before any celebrity
I've lost respect for a few of them but I have no problem with them saying whatever it is they want to say. I might think twice before going to see a movie or two but that doesn't mean I won't watch it on a premium channel.

Anyone that is swayed by a celebrity political endorsement is an idiot anyway. Let the idiots be lead however they want it.

    fs
Yes, definitely there has been quite a few celebrities that's comments have left me speechless. There is MANY more but Sigourney Weavers comments about Palin were uncalled for and Sally Fields comments about the war were rediculous and Jennifer Lopez didn't flatter herself at one point just to name a few.
There are several Celebs that I will no longer watch on my tv and I wouldnt' walk across the street to see them. To name just a few that I will never watch again.

    THE VIEW

These are just a few of the people that spew nastiness while they are earning money paid for by us. I agree that can have their opinion but I definitely don't want to PAY them for it.

Add these to the networks that I don't watch anymore and the television shows I have cut out and I have lots more time on my hands but that is a good thing since I need to work more hours to pay the taxes that Obama will need for his welfare programs.
    Absolutely.

There are many celebrities that I will NEVER pay to see their movies now that I know of their political views.

Madonna?..... Who gives a rat's *** about a 50 year old skank who DESPERATELY tries to act like she's 21.... now on her 3rd?..4th? marriage.... posed in a book called ';Sex';....

WHO THE HECK is Madonna to criticize ANYONE? She is the POSTER CHILD for ';white trash';.
Still waiting for all the celebrities, that promised, to leave the county after the last presidential election.
I think Madonna should stay in England.

I was a big Matt Damon fan until he became so political.
No - I don't worship any celebrities enough to care what they think about political issues.
Nope, I was really pleased to see even elisit Gossip Girls back Obama heheh
Yes. Hank Williams, Jr. Oh, wait....I already knew he was a jackass.
